Sarah works out of our Sunshine Counseling office in Alpharetta.
Your child’s emotions feel too big for them – and for you. Worry, sadness, or overwhelming experiences may show up as meltdowns, shutdowns, or difficulty coping with everyday moments. You’re looking for help from someone who understands child development and the realities of parenting.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master of Social Work from Georgia State University, and I specialize in supporting children and families through anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional dysregulation. My background providing mental health support in school settings gives me firsthand insight into the academic, social, and emotional pressures children face and how deeply these challenges can affect the entire family.
My Approach:
Meet them in their world – Using developmentally appropriate, child-centered and play-based interventions to connect with children in ways that feel natural, safe, and engaging
Build skills through connection and play – Integrating CBT, DBT, movement, and play to help children develop and use healthy coping skills
Support healing at home – Collaborating with parents to strengthen connection, growth, and emotional support within the home
Parent consultations – Providing dedicated space for parents to ask questions, reflect, and gain practical guidance tailored to their child’s needs
What Makes My Work Different:
I focus on the whole child and the whole family. I believe meaningful progress happens when parents feel supported and empowered alongside their child. My experience in school settings helps me provide support that is tailored to the academic and social pressures facing your child.
I Provide Support For:
Children experiencing anxiety or frequent overwhelm
Children struggling with emotional regulation or mood changes
Children who have experienced trauma or major life transitions
Families seeking stronger connection and communication
“I’m here to be a cheerleader for your family—supporting growth, connection, and confidence every step of the way.” – Sarah Norris
