Bio

Laura is a Licensed Professional Counselor and master’s-level, Board-Certified Art Therapist with specialized training in FLASH trauma processing. She has experience working in psychiatric hospital settings with a wide range of populations. Laura is also a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C), having completed her Perinatal Mental Health Certification program to support mothers, fathers, and families experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

As a Board-Certified Art Therapist, Laura strongly believes that creative expression can be a powerful therapeutic tool. If a client finds creativity helpful, meaningful, or even just intriguing, art therapy can be an incredibly beneficial way to explore emotions, build insight, and foster healing. Laura believes that people of all ages can create art and use the process to better understand themselves.

By integrating traditional counseling approaches with a variety of therapeutic modalities—such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person-Centered Therapy—Laura helps clients find balance and reconnect with their authentic selves. For trauma work, Laura is trained to use The Flash Technique, which is designed to be gentler and less distressing compared to the other trauma modalities. The Flash Technique is more applicable for single-event traumas vs multiple events.
