Desiree works out of our Sunshine Counseling office in Alpharetta.
Your child is battling anxiety that affects their daily life, your teen feels overwhelmed by depression or life transitions, or your young adult feels lost without direction. Maybe your child struggles with emotional regulation, your teen can’t keep up with life’s pressures, or traditional approaches haven’t worked. You want someone who won’t just “talk at” your child, but will truly connect with them and meet them exactly where they are.
With over 4 years of experience as a Mental Health Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor (eligible), I’m passionate about helping children, teens, and young adults build confidence and resilience through life’s challenges. I specialize in supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, and life transitions across a wide age range (6-35). I’m currently pursuing certification as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) to deepen my ability to support children through creative and developmentally appropriate approaches.
My Approach:
What Makes Me Different: My experience across school, clinic, and community settings gives me insight into how young people function in different environments. My faith-based option allows families to integrate their values into therapy when desired, and my pursuit of RPT certification ensures I stay current with the most effective approaches for young people.
