Allison Hogan has been providing counseling and social services in the community for over 17 years, spanning a wide range of populations; from working with at-risk youth on juvenile probation to low-income elderly residents and hospice. She has a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Kennesaw State University and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Georgia.
Allison has a servant’s heart, able and willing to help those in need. She believes that everyone has the answers within and assists clients in finding those answers to help solve major challenges in life. Allison is a total extravert, cheerful and funny, ready to lighten up your day. She’s very encouraging and finds the positives in everything. Allison has a strong faith in Christ and believes we are all children of God, deserving of God’s grace, mercy, and forgiveness. Allison believes it’s crucial to meet a client where they are, no matter what their beliefs may be or past experiences or choices made in life; there is no judgement here.
Allison utilizes Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) as evidence-based techniques and strategies to help reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, obsessive/compulsive behaviors, ADHD, anger, conduct disorders, etc. This combination of therapies helps clients to face past and/or current difficult experiences and behaviors, work through them, and come out on the other side as a survivor, stronger, and able to make changes in behaviors to facilitate a more positive outlook with healthy coping skills to prevent similar responses in the future. She is seeking licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is working at our practice under the supervision and direction of Katie Landers, MA, LPC, CPCS as well as the clinical supervision of Bonnie Klopach, LCSW.
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy is a non-invasive procedure that can treat symptoms of depression. Talk to our therapists to see if TMS is right for you.
