Nancy (Wanda) Watson sees clients for in-person therapy sessions at the Woodstock and does not offer telehealth sessions.
Wanda Watson is a licensed professional counselor who holds a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Richmont Graduate University and a Master of Arts in Education from Georgia State University. She enjoys working with children as young as 2 years old to 10 years old, and with adults for in-person therapy sessions at our Woodstock location.
Wanda’s extensive life experiences, along with more than 20 years of work as a teacher, have enhanced her ability to connect with and support each individual she meets. She has worked with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, anger management, adjustment disorders, and divorce. As a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, she has also worked with couples through premarital counseling and provides guidance to married couples seeking support with communication skills and rebuilding their relationship.
In addition to her career in public education, Wanda homeschooled her own children, allowing her to help families navigate a wide range of educational challenges. She is also equipped to provide parent skills training and can readily relate to the frustrations that often come with parenting.
Wanda’s easy rapport with children and adolescents is a strong asset in her therapeutic work with concerns such as abuse, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral issues. She utilizes Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Play Therapy techniques to help young clients and their families experience help, hope, and healing. Wanda is also a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and looks forward to meeting with clients to explore ways to navigate life’s surprises.
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy is a non-invasive procedure that can treat symptoms of depression. Talk to our therapists to see if TMS is right for you.
