Wanda enjoys working with children as young as 2 years old to 10 years old, and with adults for in-person therapy sessions at our Woodstock location.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Richmont Graduate University and a Master of Arts in Education from Georgia State University. After years as a fully licensed professional counselor and a period of retirement, I’ve decided to return to practice and am currently in the process of renewing my credentials under the supervision of Jessica Hallam Anderson, MS, LPC, CPCS, RPT-S.
My extensive life experiences and working as a teacher for over 20 years, have enhanced my work with each individual I meet. I have worked with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, anger management, adjustment disorders, and divorce. As a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, I have also worked with couples through premarital counseling and can provide guidance to married couples who may need help with communication skills and rebuilding their love relationship.
In addition to my career in public education, I also homeschooled my own children, so I am able to help families navigate a variety of educational challenges. I am also equipped to provide parent skills training and can certainly relate to any frustrations you may have with parenting.
My easy rapport with children and adolescents is an asset in my therapeutic work dealing with abuse, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavior issues. I utilize Trauma-Focused CBT and Play Therapy techniques to help young clients and their families experience help, hope, and healing. I am also a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator. I would love to meet with you and explore ways to navigate your life’s surprises.
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy is a non-invasive procedure that can treat symptoms of depression. Talk to our therapists to see if TMS is right for you.
