Laura Seipel sees clients for in-person therapy sessions at the Woodstock location, and offers telehealth therapy sessions.
Laura is a Licensed Professional Counselor and master’s-level, Board-Certified Art Therapist with specialized training in FLASH trauma processing. She has experience working in psychiatric hospital settings with a wide range of populations. Laura is also a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C), having completed her Perinatal Mental Health Certification program to support mothers, fathers, and families experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
As a Board-Certified Art Therapist, Laura strongly believes that creative expression can be a powerful therapeutic tool. If a client finds creativity helpful, meaningful, or even just intriguing, art therapy can be an incredibly beneficial way to explore emotions, build insight, and foster healing. Laura believes that people of all ages can create art and use the process to better understand themselves.
By integrating traditional counseling approaches with a variety of therapeutic modalities—such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person-Centered Therapy—Laura helps clients find balance and reconnect with their authentic selves. She is passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate life transitions, such as leaving home for college or a first job, experiencing pregnancy and early parenthood, or exploring identity and belonging as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Laura’s focus areas include perinatal mood disorders (pre- and post-partum), motherhood, grief, trauma informed care and trauma processing using FLASH, ADHD, ASD, LGBTQ+ identity concerns, and life-phase transitions. She enjoys working with clients ages 13 and up, including pre-teens, teens, adults, and individuals exploring gender identity.
Her areas of focus and expertise include, but are not limited to:
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy is a non-invasive procedure that can treat symptoms of depression. Talk to our therapists to see if TMS is right for you.
