Bio

I have found that people long to be truly known. I treat my clients with respect and caring. With these qualities as the foundation, I work together with my clients in a trusting, confidential relationship toward helping them live a more thoughtful, fulfilling and rewarding life.

I work with adults integrating counseling methods to include cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, Adlerian and person-centered approaches. I am honored to work with you in a trusting, authentic and respectful counseling relationship that focuses on the goals that we establish together. I seek to offer compassionate support, careful guidance and counseling expertise helping you navigate the challenges of life and working together with you to create the lasting changes you desire. Crista exclusively utilizes telehealth for counseling sessions.

Crista’s focus areas include anxiety, depression, grief/loss, adjustment, family and life transitions, divorce/separation, codependence, and ADHD.

In addition, Crista’s extensive background as a former school teacher, counselor, and administrator gives her a unique understanding and empathetic perspective when counseling current educators and administrators.

Crista is a highly qualified licensed professional counselor who brings a wide range of experience to her counseling practice. For twelve years, Crista worked as a school counselor in the Cherokee County School System. Prior to her experience as a school counselor, Crista worked for the Department of Human Services of Georgia providing counseling and assistance to clients of all ages. Additionally, she directed independent schools in North Fulton County and in The Woodlands, Texas. Crista earned an M.Ed./counseling concentration from Troy State University and an M.Ed. in School Counseling from University of West Alabama. She has a BS in Education from Bowling Green State University of Ohio.

Originally from Ohio, Crista has lived in Atlanta for over 30 years and currently resides in Canton, Ga. with her husband. In her spare time, she enjoys creating art, reading, antique shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.
